Cacao and a little masala chai do the heavy lifting in the flavor department and with caffeine equivalent to 1/7th of a cup of coffee you don't have to deal with the jitters or worry about sleeping at night.

Sitting in between the most hipster coffee and grandmas tea bag we're building a new category and since launching in May of 2018 we now do well over 7 figures in monthly revenue, serve over 100k active subscribers, and have raised over $10M from VCs like M13, Melitas Ventures, Selva Ventures, Able Partners, 25 Madison, Alpha Bridge and more in our mission to improve the human existence through what we toss in our mugs.

While you'll have access to our headquarters in Venice Beach, you are encouraged to live where you are happiest. You'll be joining over 20 rockstars (between contractors and full time) spanning 3 countries and 6 states. About the Role:

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for shaping and leading the growth of MUD\WTR. This person is knowledgeable in all paid social channels (FB/IG, Adwords, Youtube, SNAP, Pinterest, Tiktok), as well as TV/OTT, Out of Home, and brand partnerships. The VP of Growth is data focused and knowledgable in building out and managing reporting, budgets, CAC:LTV ratios, and will work with the data and accounting team to ensure we are surpassing our goals. This person will work collaboratively with the CEO, agencies, customer support, and marketing team to develop and orchestrate a vision that combines awareness, acquisition, and retention to reach our company goals and improve the LTV:CAC ratio in a way that aligns with budget and company goals.

You will:

  • Design and lead implementation of growth strategy by using paid and owned channels to grow new user acquisition in a scalable and efficient way
  • Lead rapid experimentation of new channels, campaigns, creative, incentives, and approaches for the purpose of building scalable solutions
  • Partner with the creative and digital product teams to develop new process for creative development and iteration
  • Recruit and lead a team of skilled performance marketers to drive marketing strategy, campaign ideation, execution, and analysis, continually raising the bar on technical and analytical skills
  • Manage all weekly reporting and communicate learnings to the executive team and investors
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create omni-channel strategies
  • Collaborate with the finance team to forecast and plan company revenue growth and marketing budgets
  • Continue to build and develop best in class data, reporting and dashboards focusing on our key KPIs (CAC, CAC:LTV, Churn) in partnership with the CEO, COO, and data team
  • Devise new channel strategies and work with the appropriate cross-functional teams to execute programs that increase growth while maintaining KPIs

Job requirements

  • Experienced in growing a DTC brand from 50M to 1B exit
  • Extensive experience in paid social channels (including but not limited to FB/IG, Youtube, Adwords, SNAP, Pinterest, Tiktok)
  • Extensive experience in offline channels (including but not limited to TV/OTT, Podcast, Out of Home, Direct Mail)
  • Data focused with the proven ability to develop and manage performance measurement reporting and modeling
  • Have experience with managing and leading projects and people remotely and have a proven track record of successfully delivering large projects from start to finish on time and within budget
  • Have ability to juggle changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude in the face of changing deliverables
  • Have experience developing growth strategies, establishing budgets, staff plans and timelines, managing clients (external and internal) on project scope and delivery
  • You're a steward of the process, you tend to geek out over process and improving process
  • You are a clear direct communicator, both written and verbal
  • You have proficiency in project management tools (Asana, Notion, Excel) and are a quick learner
  • You are someone who has high standards, takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
  • Highly-organized, adaptable, efficient, and demonstrate an innate attention to detail
  • Has a diplomatic ear, an eye for assessment, and a hand for getting the problem solved
  • You can handle difficult situations with grace while under pressure
